Baby Update

I had an U/S and doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Emmerson looked great. She weighs between 6 -7 lbs. Mind you, Bella was 6 lbs. 5 oz. when she was born and we still have 3 weeks until inducement day! The main thing was that her heart was strong and she looks beautiful. I was unable to see my doctor because she was out on a delivery so I saw the nurse lady who is as close to being a doctor as you can get without being one. She checked everything over and was asking me about Braxton Hicks and I mentioned to her that I had them all day on Sunday from morning to night. So she went ahead and checked me and said that I was getting close to a 1. So now I know things are progressing.
Today, oh today, we almost made a trip to the hospital because of contractions. I was nervous because we are still technically 5 weeks out on the actual due date. So I decided to call the doctor but the office was closed until noon due to weather conditions. So we thought we would go ahead and drive to Lee's Summit since it is 30 minutes away and would probably take us double the time since the roads were so bad. When Sheldon got home and got a bag packed and I got a bag packed for Bela, they conveniently stopped and I haven't had them since. I was thankful on one hand because I am not ready to bring this baby home but on the other hand, I want her out!! So we will see what happens the next 3 weeks. I hope I go before I have to be induced because labor won't be as intense but the thought of not knowing when it could happen frightens me a bit. Anyway, baby is still in my belly and active as can be.
The same day I had a doctors appointment, I took Bella to the doctor and she has an ear infection. We just cannot stay healthy. There is so much going around that it is nearly impossible to avoid. I did get some medicine from the nurse, so hopefully that will get rid of my almost 5 week cough. Ahhhh! Will things ever be calm anymore??? I am guessing no. I just need to take that deep breath whenever I get a chance. Breathe in aaannnnnddddd breathe out. Ahhhh, much better!

Been a while...

OK....so I have been really bad the last few weeks about updating our blog. Between Bella and I being sick, to Shirley coming to visit and not to mention being 8 months pregnant, this has been the last thing on my mind. When Bella is sleeping, I am sleeping because I am exausted and I know that in 4 weeks I might not be able to take that nap like I would like. So, here is a quick update.

Isabella's vocabulary is becoming more and more adult like. The other day we were at JCPenney's and we were looking at baby clothes. She grabbed something and said, "Mommy, this adorable. It's cute." It was very sweet. I guess maybe she hears that alot. Her new word is "we-ever", interpreted- WHATEVER! She likes to tease and and say something is "pink when it's really blue". So I got to the point where I would say, "whatever, it's pink" or "whatever you say". Now she will say:

B- "Mommy it's pink"

M- "No Bella, that's blue."

B- "We-ever, it's pink."

It's amazing the things they choose to repeat back. She is sooo much fun right now but we have also been dealing with the attitude of a 2 year old. We are in that stage of life in full force. I have really been learning how to pick my battles because if I didn't, I would be telling her no or sending her to timeout all day. It is challenging at times especially when I am not feeling my best. We are planning her little birthday party. The theme is going to be Elmo because she LOVES Elmo. I just can't believe she is going to be 2! It goes by too fast!! Growing up and even now I have always heard how we are here on earth only for a fraction of time because we will be in Heaven for an eternity. Having kids really puts that into perspective for me because it goes by so fast and they are grown before you know it. It makes me want to cherish each moment and makes me feel guilty when I don't.

Turning 30 also put that into perspective for me. Yes, 30!! I always thought it was sooo old. Now that I am here, I am excited to be 30. I have learned a lot in my twenties and am sort of glad those years are over. I look forward to my 30's. We had a big fiesta at our new house. A lot of friends and family had not seen our new home so we had a Birthday Party/ Housewarming Party. There were between 50-60 people here including a lot of little one's. It was fun but it will be a while before something like that takes place in our house again.

I am trying to get things done before Emmerson gets here. We are slowly getting a few things that we will need. (Jill~ I will be ordering her Allyzabba soon!!) http://www.allyzabba.com/ Thanks to Shirley, I have new, pretty burpcloths, a Rock-A-Bye and few other things. http://www.ribbonandsoul.com/ It's fun geting new things but we have so many things from Bella that we do not need to get. The most important thing being clothing. Thank goodness they are 2 years and 10 days apart. That is saving us a lot of money!

Anyway, not much else going on. I will make sure to keep up so I don't have to do this long drawn out blog next time. Until next time......

An end to the story...

Yea! After tears and frustration yesterday it is all over. It had crossed my mind yesterday that my cousin Greg could be pulling my chain because he is a jokester but didn't think twice about it. I got a call from my mom saying the same thing so I decided to get to the bottom of it all and call the one person who can't lie to me...GRANDMA!! I called her and she couldn't lie to her "favorite" grandaughter and thank goodnes!! She informed me that Greg felt really bad and that he was going to call me. We ended up talking and I had to give it to him because he got me! I could be upset or laugh about it and I choose to laugh and be relieved that Ethan's real name is not Emerson!! (BIG sigh)

the verdict is in...

Ok....so after a lot of thought and to those of you who gave me some great advice, Emerson Grace will be her name. We have invested in her name and I can't imagine calling her anything else but Emerson (Emy). She is my Emy and it doesn't feel right. I have yet to talk to my cousin about it but it seems fishy to me. Can't explain over blogger but it will all work itself out. Thank you gals!! Love you!

*Just thought I'd share this precious picture with you. She was 21weeks and 4 days old in this photo.*

EMERSON

Ok, so I just got the ultimate news that could definitely send me into labor! After knowing since the 15 or 16th week of pregancy that we are going to name our little girl Emerson, we have a confliction. My cousin, whom I never see but once a year, decided to name their son Emerson who they had yesterday. Emerson's name was on our Christmas cards, we have called her Emy or Emerson since week 20 when we found out! Ugh!! Sheldon says we need to change the name but I say I never see my cousin anyways so really what does it matter? I don't know what to do. Help me!!!

"I help mommy"

So we did it. Bella finally helped mommy with dinner. She did really well. She stirred the meat and did quite well. I was a little bit of a nervous wreck fearing she would burn herself but she did good. We have had many conversations about it being hot so she kept saying, "It's hot, mommy." And I would tell her, "yes, it's very hot." It was fun and she was proud of herself. After we were done and it was time to eat dinner she threw a fit because she wasn't done making dinner. This might be the start of a new leaf!! Bring it on!!

And the date is...

So, I had a doctors appointment yesterday and was told some very good news. For you fellow mommies out there you will appreciate this. I only gained a 1/2 a pound over Christmas!! I was totally shocked and very happy about that. I am not sure how I did it because I didn' t pass up those extra sugar cookies or chocolate kisses. Whatever it was, it worked!
Also, we set a date to enduce little Emy. We will be enduced on March 13th!! We are very excited about it but now I am feeling like there are a million things to do and I don't know where to start. I guess that is part of the nesting thing. It'll all get done in due time; I know this.

All aboard.....

**You might want to pause or mute the music on the side bar before playing this.**

Isabella loves Choo-Choo Soul on Disney Channel. We have a few recorded so when she wants to watch it she can. It is so much fun to watch her get excited about it. Enjoy!!

A New Fascination...

I know Isabella will be fascinated by many things, but right now it is her nose and what is inside of it.
So, the other day I was folding laundry in our room and Isabella comes in and I could tell she had something in her mouth. I asked her....

"Bella what is your mouth?"

Bella: "Boogie; Nose." (as she points to her mouth and nose)

Mommy: "Bella, did you eat a boogie from your nose?"

Bella: "Yep."

I laughed so hard because she was so proud of herself. I, of course, told her that boogies were yucky but it was so funny! I love these moments of parenthood.

Ok.....so I have been told I need to do one of these things and so here I am. I am going to try it out. A few of you do have your own blogspot so I may need help. We'll see how it works out. Bear with me as I work out the kinks!!
